Hepatitis C and Surrogacy – Video Narration
“I have hepatitis-C; can surrogacy be an option for me through donor egg IVF?
Well, if you have hepatitis C, you for sure cannot undergo surrogacy, if your husband is negative and you opt for donor eggs and if you use a healthy donor without any infectious diseases for sure you can use a donor egg IVF and your husband sperm if negative and undergo surrogacy.”
The surrogacy doctor restricts the hepatitis C patients to undergo surrogacy. However, if her husband is negative then they can opt for a donor egg IVF.
Surrogacy in India is done through assisted reproductive technology (ART). Egg donor IVF is a fertility treatment where an egg donor donates her egg for IVF, which is fertilized with the sperm of the genetic father in the laboratory. The embryos produced are placed into women’s uterus, which leads to pregnancy.
IVF treatment in India is done through use of advanced technology by well-trained doctors. Many couples come to the country to fulfill their desire of having a child, through surrogacy.
