It is only after the screening tests signal positive, the surrogate mother is shortlisted.

Following is the video narration.

“Roughly the surrogate, there are broad guidelines where we select a woman who is not more than 35 years of age, who has a previous children; we prefer a surrogate who has child or children of her own. She has to pass through her infectious disease screen. She has to pass through a psychological test and her husband, if she is married, must be willing to give consent.

We also have single women, divorced women, widowed women who come is as surrogates. Again, they undergo a psychological testing with a qualified psychiatrist. If they have an infectious disease screen and if their uterus, they have a hysteroscopy done, then all these women have a diagnostic hysteroscopy done to rule out any abnormality in the uterus. If all their screening tests – the hysteroscopy, the psychological evaluation is normal, then these women qualify to be surrogates at the …. gestational surrogate program.”

Surrogacy Delivery in India

Posted by: Smith on December 6th, 2012 no responses.

This video shows a talk by the renowned infertility expert in India on surrogacy delivery.

With the nine months of wait coming to an end, anxiety of the parents-to-be upsurge, Surrogate Delivery India and as the surrogate’s delivery time comes near, the desire to welcome the new one overwhelms. During the surrogate mother’s delivery, intended parents aren’t allowed in the delivery room. Indian families are usually not comfortable with the idea of another patient couple or single man present when the surrogacy baby is born.

If the surrogacy couple requests for the C-section delivery of their surrogate, on the grounds of a safe delivery, it would not be accepted. The Surrogate mother’s delivery process is solely decided by the obstetrician present at that time, taking into consideration the surrogate and the baby’s health.

Following is the video narration.
“Yes, as per the hospital laws you can be present in the hospital but you are not allowed to be present in the delivery suite. Again, India is a very conservative country and the husbands of the surrogates will never allow another patient couple or a single man to be present for delivery of his wife, even though she is a gestational surrogate. It just doesn’t fit in to the conservative nature of the Indian gestational surrogate to allow a third party to be present for her delivery.”

After the surrogacy child is born, intended parents make arrangements to take the baby back home. The procedure involves certain legalities, for example, according to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Australia, intended parents need to apply for the child’s citizenship or a permanent visa. The video of an Australian Surrogacy Couple on taking baby home, may help you with some more details.

With a legalized and transparent surrogacy procedure offered by many surrogacy centres in India, childless couples from countries like Australia and the US are visiting the place to complete their families. Along with India, our network surrogacy centre is also available in Mexico.
